How Do I Close or Archive Opportunities I No Longer Need?

Learn how to close and archive old opportunities so only your active listings appear

Last updated on 18 Nov, 2025

If you have opportunities on your Taproot Plus dashboard that are no longer relevant, you can close and archive them so they don’t appear alongside your active listings.

Here’s how to do it:

1. Log in and locate your opportunity

After logging in, go to the Projects or Sessions tab (depending on the type of listing you want to remove). Select the opportunity you’d like to close.

2. Close the listing

On the opportunity page, click Close Listing. A confirmation message will appear to make sure you want to proceed.

Once you confirm, the listing will be removed from the marketplace, and all pending volunteer applications will be automatically declined.

Common reasons to close an opportunity include:

  • Your organization no longer needs this support

  • You found a volunteer outside of Taproot

  • The project scope or priorities have changed

3. Archive your closed opportunity

After closing the listing, you can select Archive to move it into the Archived section of your dashboard. This helps keep your active listings organized and easy to manage.

4. Need the opportunity again?

If you want to reopen the opportunity in the future, we recommend creating a new listing. This ensures volunteers see accurate, up-to-date information and increases your chances of connecting with the right match.
