What Should I Do if I’m Having Trouble Getting in Touch with My Nonprofit Partner?

Steps you can take to reconnect and how Taproot can support you

Last updated on 11 Mar, 2026

Strong communication is an important part of a successful Taproot Plus partnership. But we understand that sometimes messages get missed, schedules change, or communication slows down. If you’re having difficulty getting in touch with your nonprofit partner, we’re here to help you move forward.

Reach out to Taproot for support

If you’ve followed up at least twice and still haven’t heard back, email help@taprootplus.org. Our team can reach out on your behalf to help reestablish communication. A quick nudge from Taproot often helps get things back on track, and we’ll keep you updated as we follow up.

If the nonprofit remains unresponsive, we’ll work with you to determine next steps and help you find another meaningful way to volunteer your skills.

Set communication expectations early

Proactive planning can help prevent communication issues before they start.
During your initial conversation with the nonprofit:

  • Discuss communication preferences (email, chat, weekly calls, etc.)

  • Agree on a shared check-in rhythm

  • Clarify how you’ll exchange feedback and project updates

Establishing this foundation early supports a smooth, collaborative experience for both you and your nonprofit partner.

If you ever need guidance or have concerns during your engagement, don’t hesitate to reach out—Taproot is here to support you every step of the way.
