Taproot Plus Volunteer Recruitment Tips

Here are some of the top tips from the Taproot team if you’re having trouble finding the perfect volunteer.

Last updated on 04 Dec, 2025

  1. Update your Project or Session description. When volunteers are scrolling for opportunities, they’re looking for concise, specific ways that their skills can make a difference. Put your goal for the volunteer front and center to grab the attention of folks who are scrolling.

  2. Share the opportunity on social media. Your community members are already invested in your mission and want to find ways to help. Volunteering for your Project or Session need—or sharing the open pro bono listing with their own social networks—could be just the support opportunity that they’ve been waiting for.

  3. Get your board members involved. Bringing in pro bono support is another form of resource-raising. Share your open Taproot Plus opportunities with board members and ask them to reach out to their network to see who could jump in. Make it easy by providing board members with shareable templates!

  4. Let the Taproot team know about your challenges. We’re here to help! Send us a message if you’re having trouble with recruitment. We’ll review your listing and share recommendations on catching the right person’s eye. We may even be able to promote your volunteer opportunity on Taproot’s own social media channels!
